GuardPLC 1200/2000 Firmware Upgrade/Downgrade
How to Upgrade/Downgrade Firmware in Existing Controllers

Download the firmware by going to www.rockwellautomation.com/support or acquiring it from a different source.
- Make a note where you copy it to on your hard drive.
- Go online with the controller you wish to upgrade using RSLogix Guard or RSLogix Guard PLUS!

Go to the EXTRA menu and do the following.
- EXTRA → Download CPU
- Browse to where you stored the firmware to in step 1. Select CPU firmware.
- EXTRA → Download Comm.
- Browse to where you stored the firmware to in step 1. Select CPU firmware.
- EXTRA → Change System ID → Change it back to what it you had it set to prior to the flash. → OK
- The OS download resets the SRS to zero so you must reset to your previous SRS before you continue to use the Guard PLC.
- EXTRA → Download CPU
- You will need to go back online because after the COMM flash the communication processor reboots and you will be taken offline.
Note: According to TÜV, you are allowed to download any certified operating system to the GuardPLC without affecting the certification of the project. If the entire system has been certified (which is very unlikely), changing the operating system may affect this system certification. Check with the certification body first.
